Matte Waves

This roughed up style is becoming more popular by the minute, the way more modern looking bedhead is showing up all over the place. To achieve this style: Tease the crown of your hair before using a curling iron to add subtle waves.  To fnish, add a pomade with a matte finish to the midshaft and ends of your hair, staying away from the roots. Even though the line is made specifically for men, I enjoy American Crew's matte wax.  Not sold on using a men's product? Try GHD's Sculpting Wax with matte finish.

Not only is it $12, but it comes equipped with sponge like antimicrobial bristles that suck up any excess water from your dripping locks, literally cutting your drying time in half.  Unfortunately it's not available until March, but judging by the write-ups it'll be well worth the wait.

Here's my not-so-secret-anymore curly hair product recipe, please enjoy! Paul Mitchell is one of my go-to lines, they're old school and that's proof the products are good as they've been around forever. I love using the Soft Sculpting Spray Gel and the Sculpting Foam together, the concoction kills every ounce of frizz and keeps my abundance of curls all uniform. I was using the foam first, followed by the spray gel, but as of late, I've been doing the reverse. Sometimes I then let it air dry, but since it's winter my diffuser wins.
